Courtland Project: Information

After extensive technical analysis and coordination with the Courtland community and specific property owners, pipeline routes were selected and approved (see map on "Project Home" page).

The County's Department of Environmental Review and Assessment conducted a thorough environmental review of the Courtland project. No significant environmental constraints were encountered during the environmental review process, therefore construction started in July 2007. The project is scheduled for completion in late summer 2008.

Public Meetings

SASD is committed to an open public process, involving frequent and ongoing communication with residents, businesses, stakeholders, and the general public. Community meetings, newsletters/postcards, and this Web site are among the various tactics used to provide updated information and obtain public input throughout the project.

In October, 2005, SASD participated in 2 community forums to discuss the status of the project and present pipeline route alternatives. The Project Team appeared before the Locke Management Association on October 11 and the Courtland Town Council on October 19. Postcard announcements were sent out in advance to publicize the meetings.

An earlier round of project updates to these community groups was held in April (Courtland) and June (Locke) of 2005. Community outreach efforts such as these will be ongoing throughout the project to keep the public informed and involved.

Ongoing Community Outreach

Please join us to learn more about this important project. If you live in the Courtland community, please keep an eye on your mailbox-as we will send out notices to update you on the project and to announce community meetings. (If you live elsewhere, or if you have not been receiving the notices, and you would like to be added to the mailing list, please fill out the form on the "Contact Us" page.)
