SacSewer proudly hosted the 30th anniversary of our Bufferlands’ community event, Walk on the Wildside. This annual celebration, held in honor of International Migratory Bird Day, has become a beloved SacSewer tradition. The event highlighted local efforts in protecting and restoring native Central Valley habitats and wildlife while giving the community a special opportunity to explore our diverse Bufferlands. Against the backdrop of our 2,150-acre Bufferlands, attendees enjoyed a day filled with fun activities, music, food trucks, wildlife presentations, and guided hikes.
The Bufferlands was specially designated to not only help reduce the potential for odor and other nuisances, but also provide hundreds of acres of wildlife habitat, farmland, and open space. Our dedicated team of natural resource specialists are consistently working to preserve and enhance the precious natural resources and open space on the Bufferlands. In addition to wildlife and habitat work, our team is committed to public education and events like Walk on the Wildside offer fun opportunities for people to enjoy the Bufferlands first-hand and learn more about what we do to preserve this precious open space and wildlife habitat.! We extend our sincerest gratitude to our partners, sponsors, staff, and attendees for the role everyone played in helping make this commemorative event an outstanding success.
