General Manager (District Engineer)
As SacSewer’s General Manager, I’m excited to invite you to consider joining our team of more than 800 dedicated professionals. Working for a utility responsible for protecting public health and the environment isn’t just a career—it’s a calling—and we have a diverse selection of positions to choose from.
But let’s start first with our “why.” Put simply, the work we do at SacSewer matters—and not just to the 1.6 million people currently living in our service area. It also matters for future generations and the 27 million Californians who rely on the Delta we discharge to for some portion of their water. These individuals will benefit from the projects, planning, and initiatives we’re undertaking now with our forward-thinking and sustainable approach to doing business.
Every staff member plays a vital role in helping us deliver on our mission. Whether you’re interested in a position in the field working on infrastructure or supporting a business function internally, we are a community of experts working toward a common goal. At its core, our work preserves and protects public health and the environment and supports the economic vitality of our region.
Choosing to work at SacSewer goes beyond the critically important role we play in the region. At SacSewer, we are also intentional about our culture and regularly track employee engagement through our partnership with Gallup. Data shows that higher levels of engagement mean better business outcomes and better health and wellness for employees—inside and outside of work. And we consider that a win-win.
Check out our social media channels to get a glimpse into life as a sewer steward. If you’re ready to have your efforts directly impact public health, environmental sustainability, and the quality of life for generations to come, I encourage you to apply.
