Rate Adjustment
In May 2024, the Board of Directors adopted a sewer rate adjustment over the next three years, starting in July 2024.
The rate adjustment in sewer rates will allow SacSewer to cover the cost associated with the following:
- Critical repairs and maintenance for SacSewer’s aging infrastructure and facilities*
- Increased costs for materials required for sewage treatment, some of which have increased 300% in recent years
- Inflationary adjustments for operations, labor, energy, and construction expenditures
*For SacSewer sewage collection customers only
Business Impact Fees
SacSewer charges sewer impact fees to any business customer connecting to the sewer system for the first time.
Sewer impact fees are collected for any parcel connecting to the sewer system for the first time. Incremental sewer impact fees may also be due when a parcel size or use changes. View the Sewage Treatment Ordinance.
