SacSewer’s EchoWater Resource Recovery Facility (EchoWater Facility) has proudly accepted a Silver Peak Performance Award from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). This marks the ninth consecutive year that the EchoWater Facility has been recognized with a Peak Performance Award. Over the last thirty years, the EchoWater Facility has been recognized 20 times, which includes four Gold Awards and 16 Silver Awards.
The Peak Performance Awards recognize member agencies for outstanding levels of compliance and performance related to National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit. To qualify for a Gold Award, facilities must have zero violations in a calendar year and no more than five violations in a calendar year for a Silver Award.
This year, NACWA recognized 510 treatment facilities at 196 of its member Public Agencies at a ceremony during NACWA’s 2024 Utility Leadership Conference. The 2024 Peak Performance Awards reflect permit compliance for calendar year 2023 and a full list of NACWA’s 2024 Peak Performance Awards can be found here.
This award not only showcases the dedication and hard work of our staff but also stands as a testament to our commitment in setting the bar for excellence in sewage management and environmental sustainability. Congratulations on earning this well-deserved recognition!
