SacTown Unflushables
SacSewer has put out an APB on the SacTown Unflushables. These pipe invaders are on SacSewer’s most-wanted list for causing destruction in the sewer system. This dangerous gang of clogging crooks won’t break down after they’re flushed. And if a sewer pipe gets clogged or a pump station gets jammed, it can cause messy, costly sewer overflows.
Most Wanted
Wreck-It Wipes
Wreck-it Wipes is a dangerous imposter last seen causing toilet overflows and conspiring to clog pipes. Items like disinfectant wipes, baby wipes, and even “flushable” wipes cause serious problems for the sewer system.
These items do not break down once they’re flushed, so remember to trash the wipe, not the pipe.
Madame Mask
Last seen sneaking through the sewer system, Madame Mask is the masker of disguise.
She interacts with the SacTown Clog Squad and invasive roots, which bind together, causing blockages and creating the potential for overflows. If you come in contact with this sneaky sewage stopper, put this menace in the trash!
Bossy Flossy
Bossy Flossy is a small but mighty menace and was last spotted causing a snarled mess in bathroom pipes in the Sacramento region.
Dental floss is made of material that is not biodegradable and will not break down. To avoid larger blockages and overflows, put dental floss in the trash, not the toilet.
How You Can Help
When improperly flushed down the toilet, items like disposable disinfectant wipes, baby wipes, so-called “flushable” wipes, floss, and masks wreak havoc on sewer pipes and equipment because they don’t break down. Paper products other than toilet paper (e.g., paper towels) also do not break down once in the sewer system.
SacSewer is asking residents to follow these easy steps to capture these crooks and Stop the Clog!
- Flush only toilet paper and human waste—nothing else!
- If you do use these items, trash them. Don’t flush them!
